Doyle LLP Trial Lawyers filed a Jones Act lawsuit against Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company, LLC on April 6, 2018 on behalf of an injured offshore worker.  The suit, which was filed in Houston, Texas, arises from injuries that occurred while working on the dredge at shipyard in February 2018.

This case was brought under the Jones Act and the general maritime law seeking damages for injuries caused by the negligence of Great Lakes, and the negligence and unseaworthiness of Great Lakes’s Dredge, Terrapin Island.  Doyle LLP’s Client was injured due to a defective condition on the Dredge – a set of stairs without a handrail – and poor housekeeping practices on the Dredge that left trip hazards.  As Doyle LLP’s client was working on the dredge, he suffered a serious fall because of the lack of a handrail and trip hazards left on the Dredge.  The suit alleges that Great Lakes did not properly supervise or train the crew and failed to provide adequate equipment.  As a result of the fall, Doyle LLP’s client suffered serious knee, back, and abdominal injuries.
